LINC exists in the Twin Cities to see unreached people reached with the Gospel. We do this by empowering local leaders to start new ministries that reach their own community with Gospel.
Some of the amazing leaders we are working with are Carl and Melanie Johnson. Carl has a powerful testimony including conversion to a fully devoted Christ follower after a season of life associated with the Black Muslims. He is planning to start the LCMS seminary training process this year and will be launching his church in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood .

Dayton’s Bluff is known as a “food desert.” This is an area where thousands of people live with food insecurity and there are no affordable grocery store options nearby. I have personally stopped by a gas station with a man who was picking up dinner for his family because there were no other local options.
Strategy session with Ben Griffin, Eric Chavo and Carl Johnson
This church will be utilizing a model called, “dinner church”. The dinner church model includes a weekly meal to build community and connection with the community. The goal of this church is not to feed everyone but to make connections that facilitate Gospel conversations.
In addition, they are already involved in community activity for the betterment of the neighborhood including joint efforts to combat the ongoing food-insecurity issues.
We are honored to invest in this gifted family and thank God for partners like Pastor Ben Gonzales (theAlley church) who are also walking alongside of the Johnsons in this journey.

The foundational step to every successful mission endeavor is prayer. Please join us in praying for Carl, Melanie and the calling that the Lord has laid on their lives!
